Who We Are
KIPP SoCal Public Schools is a nonprofit organization that operates 20 tuition-free, open-enrollment charter public schools, within 17 Local Education Agencies (LEA), educating more than 10,000 students and supporting 8,300 alumni to and through college and beyond. Our award winning schools are part of the national KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) network, dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners and providing the social, emotional and academic support for success in high school, college, and life.

Internship Overview
The KIPP SoCal Public Schools Intern will work within a department on the School Success Team (SST), which is the group of team members who support all functions that make our schools great! Interns will support a variety of project-based initiatives to ensure our students have wonderful experiences in our schools.
Each internship is designed to provide meaningful professional experience, hands-on skill development, and exposure to the daily functions of our organization. The Intern will be supervised by a designated supervisor within their assigned SST department and will receive regular check-ins, feedback, and opportunities for mentorship and skill development. What You'll Do (General Responsibilities)
- Support new and ongoing projects by conducting research, organizing materials, and creating content
- Participate in sub-department and School Success team meetings and workgroups
- Support administrative operations such as scheduling, document preparation, and email communication
- Help maintain accurate records, files, and databases
- Perform data entry and conduct data analysis for program tracking and reporting
- Draft or edit documents, presentations, or outreach materials as needed
- Collaborate with team members to meet project goals and deadlines
- Complete additional assignments as assigned by designated by department staff

KIPP Intern Qualifications
- Must be a KIPP SoCal alumnus/alumna
- Currently enrolled in at least your second year of a postsecondary degree program or recent college graduate (within one year of graduation).
- Possess a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA
- Able to work ~25 hours per month
- Residency in the Los Angeles area is only required if hybrid or in-person work is needed; otherwise, internships are fully virtual
- Currently pursuing a degree aligned with the focus area of the department they are applying to (e.g., education, communications, liberal arts, or similar field).
- Ability to communicate effectively with KIPP SoCal staff, alumni, and external stakeholders
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve
- Proficient computer skills
- Commitment to confidentiality as it relates to alumni, staff, and organization records
- Exhibits professionalism and adheres to all KIPP SoCal policies and rules
Stipend/Compensation
- Interns will work 25 hours a month (5-7 hours a week) from January 18, 2027 - June, 2027.
- Two disbursements of $1250 will be made during the middle and end of the internship for a total stipend of $2500.
