Graduate Civil Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities
- Assist with the measurement and valuation of civil engineering works.
- Support the preparation of interim valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Site Engineers to monitor project progress.
- Assist in the preparation of commercial reports for project management.
- Maintain accurate records of costs, variations and contractual documentation.
- Assist with the administration of subcontractor accounts and payments.
- Support the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, professionalism and a willingness to learn.
Necessary Requirements of the Graduate Civil Quantity Surveyor
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant work placement or internship experience would be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent record keeping and administration skills.
Desired Competencies / Special Role Requirements
- Understanding of quantity surveying principles and cost control procedures.
- Ability to interpret drawings and project specifications.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Keen interest in developing a career within civil engineering and construction.
