Mechanical Commissioning Lead – Data Centre Project

We’re delivering a major data centre project. It’s fast‑paced, highly technical and full of the sort of moving parts where strong commissioning leadership makes or breaks the job. That’s why we’re looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Lead who knows how to bring systems online properly, manage multiple specialists, and keep both the quality and the momentum exactly where they need to be.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the person who makes sure the commissioning doesn’t just happen — it happens in the right sequence, with the right documentation, and to the standard the client expects.
That includes:
Quality & Risk
You’ll help define system boundaries, manage benchmarks, oversee test packs, and ensure everything is accurate, compliant and ready for inspection. You’ll also take a proactive role in identifying risks, reporting them clearly, and helping the project team stay ahead of possible delays.
Communication & Commercial Awareness
You’ll issue weekly commissioning and risk reports, advise on potential variations, and work closely with QS and PM teams to avoid surprises. Clear communication is essential — especially when something might impact programme.
