CNC Machinist - 2nd and 3rd Shift

We're seeking an experienced CNC 5-Axis Milling Machinist who can independently set up, troubleshoot, optimize, and operate advanced multi-axis machining centers while helping us continue to deliver world-class precision manufacturing solutions.

Enjoy a long weekend! 🔧 What You’ll Do CNC Setup & Machining Set up and operate CNC 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, engineering models, routers, setup sheets, and work instructions Select tooling, workholding, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machining strategies Set tool offsets and establish proven machining processes Perform first-piece inspections and obtain approval prior to production Optimize feeds, speeds, and toolpaths to improve cycle times and tool life Modify NC code and machining parameters as needed Support lights-out and automated manufacturing operations Troubleshoot machining, tooling, fixturing, and quality issues Quality & Inspection Perform in-process and final inspections Utilize precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and vision systems Interpret GD&T requirements Maintain compliance with KMM Quality Management System requirements Support ISO 13485, AS9100, FDA, and ITAR-regulated manufacturing environments Continuous Improvement Identify process improvements Improve setup reduction and machine utilization Support lean manufacturing initiatives Assist with training and mentoring less experienced machinists Help develop repeatable, stable production processes Equipment You'll Work With Depending on assignment, you may work with: Mori Seiki DV5100 4 & 5 Axis Machining Centers Yasda YBM640V Ultra Precision Hard Milling Centers DMG Mori DMU 40 eVo Palletized 5-Axis Machining Centers HAAS VF2SSYT 5-Axis Machining Centers HAAS UMC750SS Palletized 5-Axis Machining Centers Renishaw Tool Setting and Probing Systems Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi Controls Automated pallet systems and robotic machine tending technologies ✅ What We’re Looking For This role is a strong fit for someone who is dependable, curious, and hands-on.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years CNC milling setup and operation experience Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T Strong understanding of CNC programming and G-Code Experience performing setups independently Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, workholding, feeds, and speeds Ability to inspect precision-machined components

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational training, apprenticeship, or technical education Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi controls experience Mastercam experience Experience with pallet systems and automation Medical, aerospace, defense, or precision contract manufacturing experience Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Frequently use hands and fingers to operate machinery, tools, controls, gauges, and measuring instruments.
• Frequently reach, grasp, handle, and manipulate small parts and tooling components.
• Visually inspect parts, tooling, machine displays, blueprints, and measurement devices, including the ability to distinguish fine details and small dimensional variations.
• Read and interpret written instructions, blueprints, setup sheets, inspection reports, and digital production information.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while loading material, changing tools, cleaning machines, and performing routine maintenance.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials, tooling, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
• Safely operate material handling equipment and lifting devices when required.
• Work around moving mechanical equipment, cutting tools, metal chips, coolants, lubricants, and other manufacturing-related materials.
• Tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels typical of a manufacturing environment while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain regular attendance and work scheduled overtime as needed to support production requirements.
• ITAR Requirement KMM is an ITAR-registered facility.
