Patient Access Representative

Full Time—72 hours per pay period

Hospital Evening Shifts w/ varying shifts including weekends and holidays

Kossuth Regional Health Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team. This front-line role is often the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, helping create a welcoming experience while ensuring registration, scheduling, and insurance information are handled accurately and efficiently. In this role, you'll play an important part in keeping patient visits running smoothly from start to finish. 

What You’ll Do:

· Welcome and assist patients, families, and visitors throughout their visit

· Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and consent information

· Support patient flow by coordinating with providers, nurses, and other departments

· Answer phones, route calls, assist with scheduling, and manage switchboard operations

· Collect payments and connect patients with financial counseling resources when needed

· Maintain accurate patient information with the electronic medical record system

· Assist with clinic operations, clerical tasks, improvement initiatives, and departmental projects

What We’re Looking For:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· 1+ year of clerical experience (healthcare preferred)

· Previous healthcare experience and knowledge of health insurance preferred

· Strong customer service skills with a professional, positive, and compassionate approach

· Comfortable using electronic medical records and computer systems

· Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

·  Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
