As the Assistant Parts Manager, you’ll be a key support to the General Manager while serving as a go-to resource for customers, vendors, and internal teams. What You’ll do:
· Be the Face of Customer Service
o Assist walk-in, phone, and email customers with parts identification, pricing, and availability
o Process sales orders, invoices, returns, and credit accurately and efficiently
o Build strong product knowledge to confidently support customer needs
· Keep Inventory Running Smoothly
o Assist with inventory controls, including cycle counts and physical inventories
o Monitor stocking levels, min/max settings, and slow-moving inventory
o Receive, inspect, and properly stock incoming parts
· Support Purchasing & Vendor Relations
o Assist with placing purchase orders and tracking open POs
o Communicate with vendors on pricing, availability, lead times, and freight
o Track shortages, damage freight and vendor credit to help reduce emergency purchases through proactive ordering
· Driver Accuracy & Operational Excellence
o Ensure all transactions follow company processes and pricing guidelines
o Maintain accurate records in Salesforce
o Assist in month-end inventory reconciliation as needed
o Serve as a backup for the General Manager
o Assist in training and onboarding counter staff
What We’re Looking For
· 2 years of experience in parts sales, inventory, or counter operations particularly in the tank trailer industry.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
· A positive, can-do attitude, anticipate challenges and rise to meet them.
· Proficiency in Salesforce and Office 365 applications for efficient sales management.
· Strong project management and analytical skills to oversee multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to stand, walk, reach, climb, or crouch.
· Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
· Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal skills with customers, management, and team members.
