The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Executive General Manager based in Melbourne, this is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the safe, compliant and profitable performance of the operations while building a collaborative accountable and high performing team.

We’re looking for a self-sufficient leader with strong transport industry experience who understands what it takes to run a complex operation. You will be comfortable balancing safety and compliance, operational efficiency, financial performance, customer engagement and retention of your people.

What You’ll Responsible For:

Lead the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the Kewdale business

Drive safety performance and ensure transport regulatory compliance

Deliver operational, financial and contractual KPIs

Manage budgets, operating costs and opportunities for improvement

Build an engaged, accountable and collaborative team culture

Improve employee retention and develop capability across the operation

Work closely with multiple customers to ensure strong service delivery

Identify opportunities to improve productivity, cost and overall performance

Provide visible leadership through regular safety walks and driver observations

What you’ll bring:

We’re looking for someone motivated, commercially aware and confident in leading teams in a transport environment.

You will have:

Strong leadership experience within transport, freight or logistics

Extensive knowledge of transport operations and safety

Experience managing budgets, costs and operational performance

A proven ability to lead, engage and retain operational teams

Strong commercial judgement and problem-solving skills

Confidence working autonomously and making decisions

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
