The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly capable transport leader who brings deep industry expertise, sharp operational insight and the ability to unite and energise a team. You will lead with authenticity, set clear standards and create an environment where people feel supported, accountable and proud of the work they do each day.

To succeed, you will have proven experience leading a successful transport operation, building strong team performance and communicating with confidence across drivers, operations staff and customers.

You will:

Lead and optimise the performance of the local transport team, delivering both team and individual results

Drive collaboration across sales, administration and operations to maximise productivity and service outcomes

Ensure data accuracy and system integrity to support efficient, cost-conscious operations

Champion exceptional, commercially sound customer service, managing key client relationships with professionalism

Engage confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders to support strategic outcomes

Identify and implement continuous improvement and change initiatives that enhance operational performance

Take ownership of financial performance, including P&L accountability, cost control, KPI tracking and reporting

Provide first-line leadership on HR and ER/IR matters, fostering a fair, consistent and high-performing workplace

Lead compliance excellence with strong knowledge of transport legislation, COR, WHS/OHS, NHVL and heavy vehicle regulations

Set the tone each day by running engaging AM and PM toolbox meetings that reinforce safety, accountability and standards

This role requires occasional after-hours support and a strong commitment to operational excellence, safety leadership and team performance.

You will have:

Proven experience in a senior transport or logistics leadership role, with a strong track record of operational success

A hands-on leadership style, comfortable stepping onto the floor to support your team when required

An approachable, visible presence, leading from the front rather than behind a desk

Highly developed communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels

A customer-focused and flexible mindset, with the willingness to provide support outside standard hours when required
