Yard Forklift Operator / HR Driver

About NTFS

Northern Territory Freight Services, as a division of K&S Corporation, are a general freight carrier between Adelaide and NT destinations with both ambient and temperature-controlled capabilities and have a heritage of servicing the Territory spanning decades. Local operations in Alice Springs and Darwin also incorporate route work, meaning we are a fundamental part of the NT freight infrastructure.

About the role:

If you enjoy hands-on work, variety and being part of a team that keeps freight moving, this could be the role for you.

Approximately 80% of your time will be spent in yard operations, unloading containers and safely moving containers and freight using forklifts and Combi Lifts.

You’ll also have the opportunity to get out on the road, completing local HR deliveries of general freight.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, no two days are the same. Enjoy a great mix of yard operations and local driving, with the autonomy and satisfaction of getting the job done safely and efficiently.

You will bring:

A valid HR licence

Forklift licence and previous forklift operating experience

Experience unloading containers and moving freight

Combi Lift experience will be highly regarded

Previous experience operating HR vehicles

A strong commitment to safety, load restraint and fatigue management

A clean driving history with no major infringements

Punctuality, reliability and a responsible approach to your working day

The ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively

Rail and port inductions will be highly regarded
