This is a Full-Time, Non- Bargaining, Non - Exempt position based on a 40-hour work week with a salary range of $29.3582 - $38.8125. The individual in this position will work in the Electric Utility Building located at 1900 2nd Avenue North, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460.

JOB SUMMARY:
This exciting role provides an incredible opportunity for a Budget Analyst to learn and gain experience through collaborative exposure working within Electric Utility’s (EU) eight divisions. In this full-time position as a key member of the EU Budget Team, the Budget Analyst will interact heavily with the Finance Department. The Budget Analyst will handle highly confidential / sensitive information and attend meetings to discuss and support budget development, preparation, staff changes, and implementation of EU’s annual budget process.
The Budget Analyst reports directly to the Budget Manager; all work requires exercising independent judgment within established policies and procedures, respect for leadership, adherence to the organization’s hierarchy and reporting lines. This role requires a high level of responsibility, professionalism, confidentiality, positive attitude and mindset, aptitude and willingness for learning and growing to promote positive collaboration; ability to articulate information professionally, while ensuring compliance with the City’s guidelines and procedures in conjunction with local, state, and federal regulations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Functional knowledge of basic accounting, budgetary methods and techniques, data retrieval analysis using MS Office products. Candidate must be capable of participating in courses/learning contract law basics, City, State and Federal laws governing the purchasing of commodities for the City. Knowledge of computer technology and use of electronic spreadsheets and word processing using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, etc. Ability to analyze detailed data; prepare and present reports and perform analysis of trends.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; studies in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or Economics required. In addition, three years of professional experience in research, analysis, evaluation, or administrative work. Considerable knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Applications, Adobe, and Cognos Analytics (desirable).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is an in-person office position located at: 1900 2nd Avenue N., Lake Worth, FL 33461
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in an office environment and occasional field visits. Utility employees are essential employees and may be required to assist with pre- and post-storm related business functions such as coordination of resources and records management required to sustain recovery operations and subsequent expense tracking and reporting.
All full-time employees are considered critical in response to emergency situations and may be deemed essential as needed depending on the situation. Employees in this position will be required to complete the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800 within the first six months of employment. Certain positions may be required to attain additional ICS training as needed.
