- Perform PM services such as oil or fluid changes, DOT inspections, grease/lube, etc. in regular intervals and completing appropriate paperwork or business system tasks to track & follow-through
- Perform truck services as needed beyond typical PMs – such as alternator/starter replacement, A/C service, light body repairs, radiator or cooling system services, brake services, etc.
- Ability to diagnose issues with vehicles and communicate with management or customers
- Perform truck check-in or check-out procedures such as light cleanup, washing, refueling, removing decals or license plates, basic inspections of components under supervision of technicians
- Ability to drive trucks or company cars between locations as needed
- Complete all safety and technical training for Idealease Fleet Technicians
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Vocational or technical certification on vehicle repairs
- 3+ years of Technician experience, fleet or dealership
- Training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications
- Ability to work with diagnostics computer for troubleshooting and repairs
- Must have your own toolset to perform assigned responsibilities
- Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
As an experienced diesel technician, you will work independently, performing both major and minor repairs. Diagnosing all-makes commercial trucks and buses and completing maintenance work consistent with Lakeside best practices and industry standards. As an expert, you are considered a lead technician and may serve as a mentor for developing diesel technicians at the dealership.
