Northland Fleet Services, a member of LaPrairie Group of Companies, provides full turnkey fleet management services, for light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty equipment, to customers throughout northern British Columbia.
Northland Fleet Services, located in Grande Prairie, AB, is looking for a Service Writer.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage work orders and purchase orders for maintenance and repairs on customer and internal units.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize tasks based on operational needs and unit availability.
- Track and document service history, parts usage, and labor hours for each unit.
- Communicate and manage with customers regarding repair process, unit status, estimated completion times, and service impacts.
- Monitor parts inventory and initiate/manage orders as needed to support scheduled work.
- Maintain organization of parts room and storage areas
- Conduct physical inventory counts.
- Communicate with customer’s fleet management companies on approval for repairs and repair order status.
- Ensure all shop supplies are adequately stocked.
- Perform other duties as required.
Preferred Skills and Education:
- Experience with light duty/on-road equipment.
- Prior Service Writing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of internal systems such as engines, hydraulics, HVAC, and electrical components.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Strong organizational, multitask and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, supervisors, and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to detail in documentation and recordkeeping.
- Able to work independently and in team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is an asset.
