Groundskeeper / Houseperson

Job Duties (add specific job duties)

• Sweep all hotel walkways of dirt, debris, and cigarette butts into a dustpan and dispose of them appropriately.
• Wash down hotel exterior walkways, porches, and walls with hose and cleaning chemicals (as necessary).

• Pick up and remove trash throughout the parking lot and from outside trash receptacles and transport to the dumpster.   

• Sweep all cobwebs from stairwells and remove bird nests from fire alarms and overhead railings.
• Wipe down railings in walkways and stairwells.
• Maintain beach area - raking sand in the mornings, ensuring the beach is clear of debris from storms.
• Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual projects as assigned, i.e. wash windows, rotate mattresses, wash walkways, clean cobwebs throughout the Inn, etc.       
• Water plant material as necessary in the summer months - outside flower pots.
• Understand the uses of all cleaning equipment and chemicals, read and follow safety labels on bottles, and follow instructions for use; operate hotel equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Equipment may vary at the location, but may include: Power Washer, Carpet Cleaner, Leaf Blower, Shop-Vac   

Experience:

Experience working in hotels/inns/resorts, knowledge of housekeeping, and general maintenance.

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in a hotel environment. This position is physically demanding, requiring extended periods of walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.  Moderate to frequent levels of computer keying using both hands and viewing material on a computer screen. We may need extended workdays to meet workload demands during peak periods.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.”
