The Cook/Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious and appetizing meals to residents in a skilled nursing facility, adhering to all sanitation, safety, and dietary guidelines. This role also assists with various kitchen duties, including food preparation, cleaning, and stocking, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.
Schedule: PRN, Weekdays, Weekends, On-Call
Responsibilities:
Cooking Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and resident dietary restrictions (e.g., pureed, low sodium, diabetic).
- Ensure food is prepared and served at appropriate temperatures.
- Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., HACCP, local health codes).
- Manage inventory of food and supplies, reporting needs to the supervisor.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Dietary Aide Duties
- Assist in setting up and serving meals in the dining room or to resident rooms.
- Provide assistance to residents during meal times as needed.
- Clear tables and transport dishes to the dishwashing area.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and dining areas.
- Stock food items, supplies, and condiments.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Record food temperatures and other pertinent data as required.
- Communicate resident feedback regarding meals to the dietary supervisor.
