The Event Host/Emcee leads front-of-house entertainment and live event execution across NuWu’s courtyard and lounge spaces. Key responsibilities include emceeing weekly events, creating original trivia content, introducing talent, driving guest participation, and assisting in executing physical setup and vendor placement. We are looking for a charismatic communicator with a strong creative eye who can energize large crowds while maintaining high operational standards.
Make announcements, introduce performers or activities, and promote upcoming events or experiences.
Develop and prepare engaging content, talking points, trivia questions, themes, and other materials for assigned events in coordination with Events Lead designed to support recurring attendance and guest engagement.
Serve as the primary host and on-site ambassador for NuWu weekly events (e.g., Trivia Night, NuWu Comedy Club, Canna-Karaoke, Ladies Night, Open Mic) and other special events.
Welcome guests, explain event flow, encourage participation, and maintain an upbeat, inclusive atmosphere.
Assist with event setup, breakdown, vendor coordination, and other event-day needs as assigned.
Maintain professional, appropriate, and inclusive communication while representing NuWu during live events.
Follow approved event programming, promotional messaging, safety requirements, and management direction.
Adapt programming and audience interaction as necessary while maintaining the intended tone and guest experience.
Coordinate with the Event Lead, security, lounge operations, and other team members as needed to execute the event.
Assist with event setup and breakdown and ensure event areas are guest-ready before programming begins.

High school diploma or equivalent
Must be 21+
1–3 years of experience in emceeing, live entertainment, crowd facilitation, or event hosting in high-volume hospitality venues.
Exceptionally strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with large, diverse audiences and maintain high energy on a microphone.
Demonstrated ability to research, write, and curate original trivia themes, questions, and visual media tailored to specific audiences.
Knowledge of, or ability to quickly develop knowledge of, cannabis culture, products, terminology, and the NuWu guest experience. Ability to read a room, navigate unexpected delays or technical issues with humor, and maintain an inclusive, safe atmosphere.
Stand, kneel, and walk for an extended period of time.
Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Bend, twist, reach, and perform light physical labor.
Retail dispensary/lounge setting with designated sales floor, cashier, fulfillment, drive-thru, consumption lounge, and outdoor courtyard stations.
Frequent interaction with customers, large crowds, and team members.
Fast-paced environment with exposure to varying temperatures, music, and scents.
No travel required.
