Make a Difference to the Lives of Children and Young People

Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Service is looking for a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team on a maternity cover basis until July 2027.

Our service works with children and young people aged 10-18 who are involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in, offending or anti-social behaviour. We provide support to children, families, victims and communities, helping to enhance safety, reduce offending and create opportunities for positive futures.

    About the Role

As a Social Worker within the Child and Youth Justice Service, you will play a key role in supporting children and their families/carers through effective assessments, interventions and relationship-based practice. This is a rewarding opportunity to work directly with young people, helping them overcome barriers, make positive choices and achieve meaningful outcomes.

We take a strengths-based approach to our work, recognising and building on the capabilities and resilience of children, young people and their families. Working collaboratively with a range of partner agencies, you will contribute to safeguarding, reducing risk and promoting long-term positive change.

    What We're Looking For

We are seeking a motivated and committed Social Worker who:

    • Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
    • Has experience of working with children, young people and families.
    • Can complete high-quality assessments and deliver effective interventions.
    • Is committed to strengths-based and restorative practice.
    • Demonstrates excellent partnership working skills with colleagues and external agencies.
    • Can manage a varied caseload and work effectively in a dynamic environment.

    Why Join Us?

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated and supportive service that is committed to helping children and young people achieve their full potential. You'll work alongside experienced professionals who share a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people, families and communities across Lancashire.

Join us and help shape brighter futures for Lancashire's children and young people.
