FREIGHT DISPATCHER

This is a Part-Time role that will move into Full-Time role. We’re located in Summit, IL.

Serving as the go-betweens for Shippers and fleets when negotiating and/or scheduling for new freight. Heavily focused on securing most profitable and efficient loads. Knowledgeable about load systems or technology, in turn capable of maximizing best load for every route and shift.

Essential Functions:

•        Enjoy a fast-paced environment

•        Excellent Customer Service Skills

•        Dispatching a few semi-trucks per shift and handling a combination of calls and logistical work supporting contracted vendors and Members

•        Be skilled at using multiple applications simultaneously and navigation tools like Google maps

•        Demonstrate problem-solving and listening skills to assess Member safety and make sound decisions based on policy and procedures

•        Be able to provide a clear and proficient verbal and written communication

•        Be reliable to work a schedule that may include weekends/holidays and adhere to your assigned work schedule

Qualifications:

•        1+ year of dispatching experience

Compensation:

Paying $16 per hour

Preferred skills:

-CDL Class A

-2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience in the last 5 years required

-2 years DMV/MVR record with 2 or less moving violations

-Dealing with people skills, reliable and customer oriented, and ability to work independently required

-Complete employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and DOT physical and drug screening
