    Job description

    Job Description

Just imagine engineering teams across the LEGO Group building faster, with clearer standards, shared platforms, and more time to focus on creating value. Then make it real.

    About the role

As our Staff Engineer – Engineering Experience (DX), you'll drive technical direction across a portfolio of engineering capabilities spanning Developer Platform, Developer Relations, Developer Ecosystem, Enterprise Transparency, and agentic software development. Working across the LEGO® Group, you'll translate strategic direction into practical execution, helping teams align architecture, adopt common platforms, reduce technical debt, and improve engineering effectiveness at scale. You'll provide technical leadership beyond a single product while staying closely connected to delivery and real-world engineering challenges.

    Required Qualifications

    • Led technical direction across multiple teams, products, or engineering domains.
    • Shaped platform strategies that improved engineering outcomes and adoption.
    • Built software engineering and developer platform capabilities in complex environments.
    • Delivered cloud and platform engineering initiatives across interconnected systems.
    • Influenced architectural decisions and established common engineering standards.
    • Translated technology strategy into practical execution through structured problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Developed or scaled internal developer portals.
    • Implemented engineering solutions using GitHub.
    • Advanced developer tooling capabilities that improved engineering workflows.
    • Guided organizational change or technical mentoring initiatives within engineering organizations.

    What you'll build

    • Establish clear technical direction across Engineering Experience capabilities.
    • Greater consistency in engineering standards and architectural practices.
    • Stronger alignment between Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers, and engineering teams.
    • Initiatives that address systemic challenges across products and platforms.
    • Increased platform adoption and measurable improvements in developer productivity.
    • Capability-level efforts that reduce technical debt and improve engineering effectiveness.

If you've worked in a role where you shaped platform strategy, influenced architecture across multiple teams, and drove adoption of shared engineering capabilities, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your ability to connect long-term direction with practical outcomes and create alignment across a broad technology landscape.

    Life on the team

You'll join DX & Cloud Foundation within Digital Platforms & Infrastructure. We're here to provide platforms, tooling, standards, and technical foundations that help product teams build, operate, and innovate effectively at scale. We work in a hybrid rhythm across multiple locations, staying connected through technical communities, architecture discussions, planning forums, and leadership engagement. You'll have opportunities to support organizational change, coach engineers, and help grow technical capability through mentoring and collaboration.

This position will be in our LEGO® Hub in Copenhagen, soon moving to Postbyen. The work environment is exciting, inspiring, and flexible - and we like to have fun along the way!

    What success looks like

Success means becoming a trusted partner to Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers, Engineering Directors, and product teams. You'll help reduce architectural fragmentation, create clear technical roadmaps, and strengthen alignment across capabilities. Over the next 12 to 18 months, you'll contribute to expanding developer experience capabilities, advancing GenAI enablement, improving workflow automation, standardizing engineering practices, and increasing platform adoption across the organization.

Please note: If you require any reasonable accommodation or adjustments throughout the application process, please let us know. We will work with you to meet your needs.

This position is Senior Manager Specialist level. Relocation support is not offered.
