Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager to join our Wiremold team in West Hartford, CT.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for inventory accuracy, material availability, warehouse operations, and material flow throughout the manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will spend significant time on the production floor working directly with production supervisors, inventory personnel, shipping and receiving teams, and buyer/planners to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

This position is ideal for a practical operations leader who enjoys solving problems in real time, improving inventory processes, supporting production, and driving accountability across plant operations. The role will also play a key part in supporting the facility's transition to SAP S/4HANA and establishing standardized inventory and material management processes.

    Responsibilities

    Planning & ERP Support

    • Collaborate with buyer/planners to support production schedules and material availability.
    • Support the site's SAP S/4HANA transition by improving data accuracy and inventory processes.
    • Assist with inventory-related process development, training, and system adoption.
    • Ensure ERP transactions accurately reflect physical inventory conditions.

    Inventory Management & Accuracy

    • Lead all activities related to inventory accuracy and inventory control.
    • Drive cycle counting programs and physical inventory processes.
    • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
    • Improve inventory accuracy through process discipline, transaction accuracy, and root cause analysis.
    • Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and develop corrective actions.

    Plant Floor Material Flow

    • Spend substantial time on the production floor supporting daily manufacturing operations.
    • Ensure raw materials, components, and finished goods are properly managed and available to support production schedules.
    • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks impacting material movement throughout the facility.
    • Partner with production leaders to resolve material shortages and inventory issues quickly.
    • Improve material flow between receiving, stockrooms, production, and shipping.

    Warehouse & Operations Support

    • Oversee shipping, receiving, storage, and material handling activities.
    • Drive organization and efficiency within warehouse and inventory locations.
    • Ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Promote standard work and inventory control best practices.

    Leadership & Continuous Improvement

    • Lead and develop inventory, warehouse, shipping/receiving, and materials personnel.
    • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, material availability, and operational efficiency.
    • Build strong relationships with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • 5+ years of experience in inventory management, materials management, warehouse operations, or manufacturing support.
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience managing inventory control processes and inventory accuracy programs.
    • Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
    • Proven leadership experience in a plant or manufacturing setting.
    • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

    Preferred

    • SAP or SAP S/4HANA experience.
    • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
    • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
    • Experience leading inventory improvement initiatives.

This is not a desk-based supply chain strategy role. We are looking for a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, solving inventory and material flow issues, supporting production teams, and driving operational execution.
