With direct lake access and proximity to the Madison River, world-class fly fishing, and Yellowstone country, the property attracts families, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts looking for a relaxed Montana basecamp.

    Position Summary

The General Manager is the on-site leader of Lakeshore Cabins and Campground, accountable for guest experience, financial performance, and team culture across cabins, RV sites, retail, and amenities. The GM serves as the single on-site decision-maker and the connection point between the team, guests, and ownership.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead, develop, and hold accountable all team members across lodging, retail, maintenance, and guest services.
    • Recruit, hire, train, and retain a high-performing seasonal and year-round staff.
    • Foster a service-driven culture aligned with Lakeshore's values, leading visibly from the floor during peak season.
    • Maintain clear communication across the team and with ownership. Operations
    • Oversee front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, retail, and recreation amenities (lake access, gathering spaces, playgrounds).
    • Maintain property standards for cleanliness, safety, and presentation; resolve escalated guest concerns promptly.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and local/state regulations.
    • Step in operationally during weekends, evenings, and high-demand periods as needed. Retail & Guest Experience
    • Manage the onsite retail store: inventory, displays, margins, and POS controls.
    • Coordinate guest activities and seasonal programming, including partnerships with local fishing guides, outfitters, and vendors.
    • Own online reputation — respond to guest reviews professionally and promptly. Financial Performance
    • Own the property's full P&L across lodging and retail.
    • Build and execute annual budgets and rolling forecasts in partnership with ownership.
    • Monitor revenue, labor, and expenses daily; address variances proactively.
    • Oversee payroll, AP/AR, daily deposits, audits, and inventory controls. Sales, Marketing & Revenue
    • Drive occupancy and seasonal promotions across cabins, RV sites, and tent camping.
    • Identify group, event, and seasonal business opportunities to grow incremental revenue.
    • Monitor market trends and adjust pricing, packages, and programming to stay competitive.
    • Optimize rate and availability through the property's reservation and PMS platforms. Administrative & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate reporting, scheduling, and labor management with attention to seasonal staffing.
    • Ensure effective use of property technology (PMS, POS, payroll, reservations).
    • Maintain OSHA and regulatory compliance; represent Lakeshore positively in the Ennis/McAllister community. Qualifications
    • 3–5+ years as a GM, AGM, or multi-department leader in hospitality, campground, RV park, or outdoor lodging.
    • Outdoor hospitality, boutique lodging, or seasonal destination experience strongly preferred.
    • Proven P&L ownership: budgeting, labor cost controls, and financial reporting.
    • Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Familiarity with hospitality technology platforms (PMS, POS, reservations) preferred. Requirements
    • Reside within commutable distance of Ennis/McAllister, MT (relocation considered).
    • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak season.
