    Job Title:               Registrar

    Reports To:           Provost & VP for Academic Affairs

    Department:          Academic Affairs/Records Office

    Classification:      Full-time, Exempt, 12 months, Benefits Eligible

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Registrar provides strategic leadership and operational management of all functions related to student academic records, registration, enrollment, degree certification, course scheduling, and compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations. The Registrar ensures the integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and security of all academic records and plays a key role in advancing the College’s mission through effective service, innovation, and adherence to best practices.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Direct and oversee all operations of the Office of the Registrar, including registration, course scheduling, grading, transcript services, degree audits, graduation certification, and academic record maintenance
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations, including FERPA, enrollment reporting, and academic policy enforcement
    • Manage academic calendars, catalogs, and related publications in collaboration with Academic Affairs and other college offices
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery
    • Collaborate with academic leadership, faculty, and staff to support student success initiatives, retention, and timely degree completion
    • Oversee technological systems related to student information, registration, and records management; partner with IT to ensure effective use of software and data integrity
    • Provide leadership assistance in data reporting for institutional research, accreditation, state agencies, and other stakeholders
    • Supervise, train, and evaluate office staff to ensure a high standard of service and professional development
    • Serve as a key resource for interpreting academic policy, advising faculty, staff, and students on records and registration matters
    • Represent the college at professional associations, conferences, and meetings related to enrollment management and registrar functions

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Business Administration, or related field required; master or doctorate preferred
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in registrar services or academic administration
    • Recent experience working with students with VA benefits at an Institution of Higher Education (IHL) highly preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA, higher education compliance standards, and accreditation requirements
    • Proficiency with student information systems (e.g., Ellucian (Colleague, Power Campus, Jenzabar, PeopleSoft) and related technologies
    • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service abilities
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student-centered service

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment, which requires business professional attire. While performing the above job duties, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee, frequently, is required to walk, stand, reach and lift (10) pounds.
