The candidate must be able to have a flexible schedule.
Under the direction of the Aquatics Program Director, the Swim Instructor is responsible for conducting/teaching swimming lesson classes using the Aquatic Program Guidelines. In addition, the incumbent will maintain and ensure the safety of the students at all times. Know-How: Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifesaving Certification or Equivalent Preferred CPR & First Aid certifications including adult, child and infant and obstructed airway maneuver Attend Swim Instructor Courses as needed Communicate responsibly and tactfully to participants, taking into account each individual’s abilities Communicate verbally, including projecting the voice across distances Know how to design lesson plans and follow guidelines
