    Job description

The FP&A Analyst position at LGC is an outstanding opportunity to join a world-class team and support our mission of advancing science for a safer world. This role supports the Financial Planning & Analysis function within LGC Clinical Diagnostics by working alongside the Diagnostics & Genomics commercial organization on revenue planning and reporting. You will partner with finance collaborators to carry out efficient month-end close processes involving revenue, product cost of sales, and commissions. This enables accurate reporting and planning. The responsibilities include weekly sales forecasting and reporting, collaboration with our global marketing organization, planning and variance analysis, month-end close preparation, customer and product-line analytics, plus support for recurring forecast and commercial review processes.

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to capably perform each of the following essential duties:

    • Produce timely and precise weekly and monthly sales reporting including detailed comparisons against forecast and budget, delivering revenue commentary, customer and product-line analysis, and continual forecast support. This allows Finance and business leaders to comprehend performance, risks, opportunities, and needed actions.
    • Perform recurring tactical reporting and analytical tasks. These include weekly sales updates, forecast tracking, and monthly close support. You will also handle forecast check-ins, commercial and marketing business partnering, variance explanations, and ad hoc financial analysis.
    • Collaborate regularly on revenue tracking and performance with sales and commercial leadership, product management, demand planning, and finance colleagues to deliver key insights and forecast updates.
    • Prepare revenue and cost of sales journal entries and reconciliations during the monthly close process. Calculate commissions and work with the local Controlling team to ensure an accurate and timely month-end close.
    • Support annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation, collaborating with commercial, marketing, and site finance leaders to coordinate Adaptive Planning updates with revenue and product cost of sales. Support Business Objects planning cycle loads and assist site finance throughout the process and validation.
    • Use FP&A skills combined with experience in SAP, Tableau, Adaptive planning, and modeling to improve processes related to revenue reporting and forecasting, and to analyze sales performance at both customer and product-line levels. Help maintain dashboards and reports as required and coordinate with the business analytics team to ensure data accuracy.
    • Perform other finance, reporting, planning, analysis, and business support duties as required to meet organizational needs.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related analytical discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years of financial analysis, business analysis, FP&A, sales analysis, or related analytical experience.
    • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets, reconcile information, prepare variance analysis, and develop actionable reporting.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial results, trends, risks, opportunities, and business drivers to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
    • ERP experience required; SAP experience preferred.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet recurring finance deadlines, work independently in a dynamic environment, and maintain confidentiality of financial and business information.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience in FP&A supporting annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, long-range plans, commercial forecast processes, revenue bridges, risks and opportunities analysis, and management reporting.
    • Experience with Tableau, Business Objects, Adaptive Planning, Snowflake-connected data sources, SAP, BI dashboards, and other reporting or planning tools.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

The customary salary range for this position is:

Minimum pay rate: $85,000 USD annually

Maximum pay rate: $128,000 USD annually

The salary range provided covers the minimum and maximum amounts projected for this role. The base salary will be influenced by factors like experience, skills, and location.
