    Job Summary:

    The CDL Driver (A) - Yard position requires a qualified individual to move trailers and equipment throughout the facility, conduct inspections of equipment, report defects to dispatch or supervisors, and operate yard and material handling equipment in a dirty, wet, and noisy environment in all weather conditions.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Operate yard trucks and equipment safely during procedures involving both loaded and empty containers
    • Transfer and reposition trailers within the yard and designated areas
    • Assist with staging and organizing trailers for loading and unloading
    • Complete necessary paperwork including trailer numbers, weights, and material type
    • Inspect equipment before and after use and report any issues to dispatch or supervisor
    • Assist in loading and unloading tasks as needed
    • Back trailers into designated areas for efficient operations
    • Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth yard operations
    • Adhere to safety standards and company policies at all times
    • Maintain yard equipment in good working condition

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
    • Reliable and cooperative team member
    • Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and dirty conditions
    • Ability to safely operate yard equipment in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to learn trailer positioning and backing techniques
    • Willingness to be trained and certified to operate a forklift
    • Excellent communication skills

    Education and Experience:

    • Minimum of one year of relevant yard, warehouse, or industrial experience
    • Prior experience in tire recycling or manufacturing is a plus
    • Ability to learn and operate yard trucks and equipment safely
