The Leadership Mandate:
Life Action's 55-year ministry model has been expressed in two directions: we go to churches, and people come to us. This position provides executive leadership for the first of those expressions while strengthening its connection to the whole Life Action ministry. The central mandate is to:
Reintroduce Life Action to a new generation of pastors and churches
Rebuild trust, awareness, and sustained relationships within the evangelical Church
Give clear, compelling public voice to Life Action's message of revival through renewed love and restored relationships
Strengthen and expand the “go to the church” model through multi-day, immersive ministry experiences
Lead the Church Events area spiritually, strategically, relationally, and organizationally
Help churches move from a single event toward an ongoing journey of revival, vitality, relational health, and mission with Jesus
Life Action's Ministry DNA:
This leader must understand, embrace, and embody Life Action's ministry DNA:
Create the context
Proclaim biblical truth
Build authentic relationships
Invite people to respond to God
Help them live it out
Central to Life Action's message are the Seven Biblical Responses — practical expressions of how we say “yes” to God: Humility, Honesty, Repentance, Forgiveness, Compassion, Obedience, and Kingdom Action. This leader must personally model, clearly teach, and consistently reinforce these responses through preaching, relationships, decision-making, team leadership, and public representation of the ministry.
Provide Executive Leadership for Church Events:
Lead the overall vision, strategy, priorities, culture, and results of the Church Events ministry
Translate the CEO's larger organizational vision into a clear and executable Church Events strategy
Align speaking, scheduling, team deployment, worship, children's and student ministry, event production, follow-up, and church relationships around a unified ministry purpose
Build, lead, develop, and hold accountable the Church Events leadership team
Establish clear ministry, scheduling, relationship, financial, and operational goals
Evaluate current event formats and help develop effective weekend, four-day, eight-day, and other ministry experiences without weakening Life Action's immersive distinctives
Work collaboratively with Camp, Curriculum and Programming, Advancement, Communications, and Consentia so Church Events functions as part of one integrated Life Action strategy
Serve as a Public Voice for Revival:
Preach and teach the message of revival with biblical conviction, spiritual authority, pastoral sensitivity, and practical application
Serve regularly as a featured speaker at Church Events, pastor gatherings, conferences, Camp experiences, partner events, and other strategic settings
Articulate Life Action's message clearly to pastors, church leaders, congregations, donors, ministry partners, and the broader evangelical community
Help establish Life Action as a trusted thought leader in revival, relational renewal, authentic Christianity, and church vitality
Develop sermons, talks, articles, videos, podcasts, interviews, and other content that serves the Church and creates awareness of Life Action's ministry
Represent Life Action with humility, credibility, warmth, and consistency in public and private settings
Rebuild Relationships with Pastors and Churches:
Make relationship development with pastors a central leadership priority, not simply a scheduling function
Build and maintain a growing network of pastors, denominational leaders, church networks, ministry organizations, and trusted evangelical voices
Listen carefully to pastors and understand the spiritual, relational, cultural, and leadership challenges facing churches today
Create meaningful avenues for pastors to encounter Life Action before being asked to host an event, including personal conversations, prayer gatherings, pastor lunches, roundtables, digital content, and Camp experiences
Build a relational pathway that moves pastors from awareness, to trust, to participation, to hosting, to ongoing partnership
Re-engage churches and leaders who have previously experienced Life Action while reaching pastors who have little or no familiarity with the ministry
Lead Church Development and Sustainable Growth:
Strengthen the process by which pastoral relationships become confirmed ministry opportunities
Provide executive oversight to scheduling, church development, lead cultivation, follow-up, and relationship-management systems
Improve the quality and consistency of communication with prospective and returning host churches
Develop a healthy, measurable ministry pipeline while ensuring that relational trust and spiritual discernment remain central
Partner with Communications and Advancement to create pastor-facing messages, campaigns, testimonies, resources, and invitations
Help determine the appropriate national and regional deployment strategy, with concentrated relationship development in the Midwest, Mid-South, Southeast, and broader Bible Belt, and deep regional strength around the Michigan ministry hub
Cultivate repeat relationships in which churches engage with multiple Life Action ministries and resources over time
Strengthen Ministry Message and Follow-Up:
Work with Curriculum and Programming to ensure that Church Events teaching, application, and follow-up are biblically aligned and mutually reinforcing
Help develop resources for pastors, participants, and ministry partners that extend impact beyond the event itself
Ensure that every event provides clear opportunities for people to respond to God and practical handles for living out that response
Champion effective post-event measurement, including pastoral feedback, participant response, testimonies, relationship progression, and longer-term ministry outcomes
Use feedback and evidence of impact to improve ministry while preserving dependence on the Holy Spirit and the relational nature of the work
Develop Speakers and Ministry Leaders:
Identify, recruit, mentor, and develop a broader team of credible Life Action speakers and ministry leaders
Establish theological, spiritual, relational, and communication standards for those who publicly represent Life Action
Coach speakers to communicate Life Action's message with consistency while retaining their authentic voice and gifting
Help develop young adults and emerging leaders through meaningful ministry responsibility, discipleship, coaching, and service
Contribute to a long-term pipeline of future Life Action staff, speakers, team leaders, and ministry executives
Advance the Mission Through Fundraising:
Serve as a compelling fundraiser for Life Action's overall mission and message, not only for the Church Events department
Partner closely with the CEO and Advancement team to cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and Ministry Partners
Speak at Vision Dinners, major-donor gatherings, partner events, churches, and other strategic settings, clearly communicating the ministry's spiritual impact, vision, priorities, and funding needs
Build trusted, long-term relationships with individuals, families, foundations, churches, and other partners who may invest in Life Action's mission
Help develop strong cases for support, ministry presentations, donor communications, and funding initiatives that connect financial partnership to transformed lives and expanded ministry impact
Participate personally in donor meetings, follow-up conversations, vision-casting opportunities, and appropriate requests for financial support
Help identify and engage new prospective donors through church relationships, ministry networks, speaking opportunities, and external partnerships
Model biblical stewardship, gratitude, accountability, and relational integrity in every fundraising activity
Contribute to Organizational Leadership:
Serve as a trusted member of the Executive Leadership Team and a close strategic partner to the CEO
Participate in organization-wide planning, budgeting, prioritization, culture-building, and leadership decisions
Communicate candidly with the CEO about opportunities, risks, obstacles, staffing needs, and performance
Model healthy collaboration and resist departmental silos, recognizing Church Events and Camp as two expressions of one Life Action calling
Help connect new church relationships to Camp experiences, ongoing discipleship resources, Consentia offerings, and Ministry Partner engagement where appropriate
Steward people, finances, vehicles, equipment, and ministry resources responsibly
Initial Priorities — First 12–18 Months:
Build trust with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Church Events staff, road teams, speakers, and key ministry partners
Assess the Church Events team, strategy, culture, event portfolio, scheduling pipeline, and relationship-development process
Establish a clear plan to rebuild Life Action's audience and relationships among pastors and churches
Develop and begin executing a pastor-engagement strategy that includes personal relationships, gatherings, partnerships, content, and consistent follow-up
Strengthen the Spring 2027 and future Church Events calendars while improving the quality of the ministry pipeline
Clarify and consistently communicate Life Action's revival message across preaching, teaching, marketing, and pastor-facing resources
Evaluate current Church Event formats and recommend the deployment model, staffing structure, and ministry rhythms needed for sustainable growth
Establish meaningful measures of ministry impact, relational progress, team health, and operational performance
Identify and begin developing additional speakers, ministry leaders, and future leadership capacity
Build an initial fundraising and donor-engagement plan in partnership with the CEO and Advancement team
Measures of Effectiveness:
Success in this role will be evaluated through both ministry fruit and organizational stewardship, including:
Growing awareness of and trust in Life Action among pastors and churches
Growth in meaningful pastoral relationships and active church-development opportunities
Increased number and strength of confirmed Church Events, including repeat and multi-ministry relationships
Spiritual impact reported by pastors, participants, churches, and team members
Clearer and more consistent communication of Life Action's mission and message
Improved movement from initial pastoral contact to trusted relationship and ministry engagement
Healthy Church Events staff culture, leadership development, and team retention
Effective development of speakers and emerging ministry leaders
Strong collaboration across Church Events, Camp, Curriculum, Communications, Advancement, and Consentia
Meaningful contribution to donor cultivation, Ministry Partner engagement, and fundraising results for the broader Life Action mission
Responsible financial performance and stewardship of ministry resources
Required Qualifications:
A mature, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a life marked by humility, integrity, prayer, repentance, and dependence on the Holy Spirit
A clear personal calling and demonstrated burden to see revival and spiritual renewal within the local church
Strong alignment with Life Action's theology, mission, ministry DNA, and “go to the church” model
Demonstrated ability as a compelling biblical speaker and teacher
Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, and public communication skills
Significant experience leading a church, ministry, network, or comparable mission-driven organization
Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior pastors and other influential ministry leaders
Experience leading leaders, developing teams, setting strategy, and producing measurable results
Ability to combine spiritual discernment and pastoral sensitivity with strategic clarity and executive accountability
Willingness and ability to travel frequently and represent Life Action nationally
Preferred Experience:
Senior pastoral, executive ministry, denominational, church-network, or national ministry leadership experience
An established network of relationships among pastors, churches, ministry leaders, or evangelical organizations
Experience developing thought leadership, ministry content, media, or public communication platforms
Experience leading multi-site, traveling, conference, revival, or church-based ministry initiatives
Experience in ministry development, church engagement, advancement, marketing, or relationship-based growth
Demonstrated experience cultivating donors, communicating a compelling case for support, and participating in major-gift fundraising
Familiarity with measuring ministry outcomes and using relationship-management systems to support follow-through
Leadership and Character Profile:
The right leader will be:
Spiritually alive — personally pursuing God and ministering from the overflow of an abiding relationship with Christ
Revival-hearted — deeply burdened for the spiritual condition of the Church and hopeful about what God can restore
Biblically grounded — able to handle Scripture faithfully and communicate truth with courage, grace, and clarity
Relationally credible — trusted by pastors, staff, ministry partners, and peers; a listener before being a promoter
Compelling — able to move naturally between personal conversation, executive dialogue, preaching, teaching, media, and public representation
Strategic and accountable — able to turn vision into priorities, systems, action, and measurable progress
Collaborative — committed to the success of the whole ministry rather than building an independent platform or department
Developing — eager to multiply leaders, speakers, relationships, and ministry capacity rather than becoming the sole voice of the work
Resilient — able to lead through travel, uncertainty, organizational change, spiritual opposition, and the demands of public ministry
Humble and authentic — willing to live the message personally, receive correction, admit weakness, and model ongoing responsiveness to God
Essential Distinction of the Role:
This is not primarily a scheduling, sales, fundraising, or event-management position. Those functions are important and fall within the leader's responsibility, but the central need is for an executive ministry leader who can carry the message, earn the trust of pastors and Ministry Partners, lead people and strategy, secure resources for the mission, and reopen doors for Life Action to serve the Church.
The successful candidate will not simply fill the Church Events calendar. This person will help rebuild Life Action's relationship with the Church and lead a renewed movement of going to churches with a prophetic, authentic, anointed, and deeply relational message — calling people to return to God's love, remain in His love, respond from His love, and rejoice in what His love restores.
