Clerk - Shipping/Receiving

Job Title: Clerk – Shipping and Receiving

Job Summary:

The Clerk – Shipping/Receiving is responsible for handling the shipment and receipt of goods, ensuring all materials are accurately documented, properly packaged and delivered on time.

Responsibility:

• Prepare and package outgoing shipping according to company and customer specifications.

• Generate and affix shipping labels, packing lists and other required documents

• Ensure that all shipments are accurately documented, properly labeled, and meeting shipping requirements

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality

• Verify that received goods match purchase orders and packing slips, noting and discrepancies

• Document and enter received items into the inventory management system

• Maintain organized and accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities

• Communicate with carrier, suppliers and vendors to arrange shipments and resolve issues

• Ensure all safety protocols and guidelines when handling shipments and materials 

Academic/Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, addition training in logistics or supply chain management is considered an asset 

Required Skills/Experience:

• Minimum one year experience in shipping and receiving, or a similar role

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Good organizational and time management skills

• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft and shipping/Receiving software

• Ability to move packages and materials as needed
