Clinic RN - Behavioral Health

JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for professional nursing care of patients in the clinic setting utilizing the nursing process. The RN works collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the physical, psychosocial and educational needs of the patient and family. Responsibilities include delegation of duties to accountability for the quality of nursing care rendered. The RN assists with the delegation to and supervision of non-licensed personnel.

Schedule:

• 0.8FTE (32 hours)
• 4 Days/Week
• Monday- Friday
• 8am- 5pm

Compensation:

• $42.66/hr + DOE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
2. Records patients’ weight, blood pressure, pulse, height and other vital signs.
3. Instructs patients and/or family regarding medication and treatment.
4. Authorizes drug refills as directed by physicians or standing orders.
5. Administers prescribed medication and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
6. Observes, records and reports patients’ condition and/or response to treatments to physician.
7. Oversees appointment booking and insures preference is given to patients in emergent situations.
8. Gives patients telephone advice using nursing judgment within the scope of license.
9. Triage patients to the appropriate setting if there is a need to be seen.
10. Arranges for patient testing and admissions.
11. Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Insures cleanliness. Prepares lists of medical supplied needed.
12. Actively participates in Performance Improvement.
13. Accepts accountability for own actions.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for attending at least 80% of nursing staff meetings.
2. Completion of all required educational competencies.
3. Attending all mandatory in-service classes

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

1. Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Montana.
2. Current CPR certification.
3. Ability to treat all information as confidential.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Six (6) months experience as a Registered Nurse
2. ACLS certification.
3. Detail oriented.
4. Positive attitude and flexibility during routine workday.
5. Willingness to cover for other providers as necessary.
6. Good verbal and written communication skills.
7. Well-groomed, tactful, patient, pleasant and customer focused.
8. Willingness to assist and mentor others.
