Clinic Support Worker

About the position: The Clinic Support Worker will provide janitorial duties on regular basis as required within the health facility; provide minor maintenance as assigned by immediate supervisor; cross train for Community Health Representative, Cultural Support Worker, Home Health Aide, Medical Transportation Clerk, Parent Support Worker and Dental Aide; This position is required to order supplies, do inventory control, and to work with the supervisor to maintain the clinic/facility in an appropriate and cost-effective manner.

Duties:

• Sweep/mop/dust floors and damp mop the main entrance or other soiled floor areas as necessary;
• Ensure that garbage/debris is removed from clinic/facility and surrounding grounds and transferred to an appropriate refuse container outside the clinic/facility;

• Cross-train for Community Health Representative, Community Cultural Support Worker, Home Health Aide, Medical Transportation Clerk, Parent Support Worker and Dental Aide;

Qualifications:

• Minimum grade 10 education;
• WHIMS and First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain)
• Willing to learn new skills and work within the health care team;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to speak/understand Cree and knowledge of the Cree culture is as asset;
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening;
• Class 5 Driver’s license preferred, but not required;
