    Job description

    Position Summary

The Product Manager, Data Products owns the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of data and analytics products built on the organization's Snowflake data platform and delivered through Power BI and related reporting tools. This role partners with data engineering, business stakeholders, and analytics teams to define data product requirements, prioritize the backlog, and ensure data products deliver trusted, actionable insights that drive business decisions. The Product Manager serves as the primary link between business needs and the underlying data platform, balancing stakeholder demand with data quality, governance, and platform capacity.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    Data Product Strategy & Roadmap

    • Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for assigned data products and analytics platforms.
    • Identify opportunities to deliver new datasets, dashboards, and self-service analytics capabilities.
    • Prioritize backlog items based on business value, data quality, and stakeholder needs.
    • Partner with data engineering and architecture teams to align the roadmap with Snowflake platform capacity and capabilities.

    Requirements & Data Modeling Collaboration

    • Translate business requirements into clear data product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
    • Partner with data engineers to define source-to-target mappings, data models, and transformation logic within Snowflake.
    • Ensure data definitions, business logic, and calculations are documented and consistently applied across reports and dashboards.
    • Validate data outputs for accuracy, completeness, and business relevance prior to release.

    Dashboard & Reporting Delivery

    • Own the roadmap and prioritization of Power BI dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools.
    • Partner with report developers and business stakeholders to design intuitive, actionable dashboard experiences.
    • Establish and enforce standards for dashboard design, performance, and usability.
    • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and rollout of new reports and dashboards.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Serve as the primary product owner and point of contact for business stakeholders requesting data and analytics capabilities.
    • Facilitate intake, prioritization, and communication of data product requests.
    • Present roadmap updates, data product performance, and adoption metrics to business and technology leadership.
    • Build strong relationships with data engineering, BI development, and business analytics teams.

    Data Governance & Quality

    • Partner with data governance and security teams to ensure appropriate access controls, data classification, and compliance requirements are met within Snowflake.
    • Monitor data quality and work with engineering teams to resolve data issues impacting downstream reporting.
    • Support definition and maintenance of a data catalog and business glossary for data products.
    • Promote adoption of governed, trusted data sources over ad hoc reporting.

    Adoption & Continuous Improvement

    • Track usage, adoption, and satisfaction metrics for data products and dashboards.
    • Gather stakeholder feedback and incorporate it into future roadmap planning.
    • Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, cost efficiency, and data delivery speed.
    • Champion data literacy and self-service analytics adoption across the organization.

    Other

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • 4+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or data/analytics roles, including direct experience delivering data or BI products.
    • Hands-on experience working with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse platform.
    • Hands-on experience building or managing Power BI reports, dashboards, or semantic/data models.
    • Strong SQL skills for data exploration, validation, and requirements definition.
    • Experience translating business requirements into data models, reports, and analytics solutions.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across both technical and business audiences.
    • Preferred:
    • Experience with Agile/Scrum product delivery.
