Position: Meat Expert
As a Meat Expert, your primary responsibilities will include:
- As a primarily guest-facing role, the Meat Expert is responsible for engaging with Guests in a friendly and professional manner, consistently delivering remarkable service.
- Sharing your knowledge of various meat cuts and recommending appropriate options based on Guests’ preferences and serving needs.
- Expertly cutting a variety of meats across all species for both display and custom Guest requests.
- Offering suitable product substitutes and helpful suggestions to meet individual Guest needs and preferences.
- Preparing specialty and custom meat cuts to order, ensuring precision and presentation quality.
- Advising Guests on proper cutting techniques, portion sizes, and preparation tips to elevate their cooking experience.
- Offering product samples and recommendations to assist Guests in making confident, informed purchasing decisions.
- Assisting with department setup, product displays, and maintaining a visually appealing presentation.
- Assisting with department closing procedures.
- Monitoring product freshness through regular date checks and effective stock rotation.
- Adhering to all food safety, health, and workplace safety regulations.
What We're Looking For:
- Proficient in meat cutting, including all species, with expert use of a bandsaw.
- Skilled in preparing meat for both back-of-house and service case presentation.
- In-depth knowledge of meat cuts and a variety of meat types.
- Outstanding guest service skills with a warm, approachable demeanor.
- Strong understanding of raw materials, production techniques, and quality control standards.
- A dependable team player who excels in collaborative environments.
- A genuine passion for the food industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
- Culinary background or experience is considered an asset
Work Environment:
- This position is based in a dynamic retail store setting.
- Availability for evening and weekend shifts is required
