Reporting to the Children's Learning Center Manager, the lead classroom teacher will provide care and educational opportunities for children enrolled in the program.
Typical functions required of the classroom teacher:
- To devise and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with the overall program mission and with relevant educational standards
- To prepare materials to support planned activities
- To maintain a guidance plan by utilizing proactive strategies, while encouraging positive social behavior
- To maintain and support a safe learning environment
- To assist with the inventory and proper utilization of supplies and consumables
- To establish and maintain home/school connections
- To utilize and model active listening skills
- To communicate effectively with the children, families, co-workers, and LCCC's faculty/staff
- To be a role model for adult learners assigned to the classroom
- To assist the Children's Learning Center administrators to meet all regulations and program needs

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; OCCRRA CPL Level 4
- Willingness to complete required in-service trainings
- Must meet all required DCY childcare staff member licensing regulations, including extensive background check
- Minimum of 1 year toddler teaching experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work with young children and families
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current approved training in CPR/First Aid, Management of Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse Recognition
- 3 years teaching experience
- Current State of Ohio Associate Teaching License or eligibility for licensure
- Familiarity with Conscious Discipline and the Ohio Early Learning Assessment
