    Job description

This is a hybrid role that requires 4 days/week in our London office (Fitzrovia)

    About Lorum

The structural conflict at the centre of correspondent banking is not technological. It is economic. Banks earn revenue from their balance sheets: they lend deposits, capture FX spreads, and hold funds as long as it is rational to do so. Clearing, the act of releasing funds quickly and predictably, competes directly with those economics. An institution designed to lend has a structural incentive to hold deposits; an institution designed to clear has an incentive to release them. When one institution does both, clearing loses. The result is unpredictable settlement, trapped capital, and a correspondent network shrinking by design.

    Why Lorum

Lorum was founded on a different premise: clearing as the business, not a byproduct. The model has been operational since 2023 and grew 55x in 2025, with USD clearing now the majority of volumes alongside a growing treasury offering. We have applied for a U.S. national trust bank charter. The people we hire now will build the clearing and treasury infrastructure it unlocks.

    The role

You will build Lorum's partnerships business from the ground up, starting with core banking providers.

The model is simple and powerful. We integrate once with a core banking provider, and every bank on that platform can use Lorum. We've validated the opportunity. Now we need someone who knows this world to come onboard and build it for us.

Core banking is the starting point, not the limit. You'll work across multiple markets, and we'll lean on you to spot new partnership angles wherever they make sense for Lorum. You'll report to Yasmin Bayat, Chief Revenue Officer, and work closely with our sales team, who will take the bank opportunities you create through to close.

You'll be our first partnership’s hire, shaping a revenue line in your own way rather than inheriting someone else's playbook. The scope is deliberately open: you'll spot where partnerships can grow Lorum and turn the best of them into real revenue.

This is for someone with high agency who wants a blank canvas. Lorum moves fast and changes constantly. You need to be comfortable with ambiguity, focused on outcomes, and happy to roll up your sleeves - conferences, cold outreach, on-site visits - as well as set the strategy.

    Day-to-day responsibilities

    • Find and sign new partnerships with core banking providers and other ecosystem partners

    • Build a partner pipeline across our target markets

    • Meet partners at conferences, on site and through direct outreach

    • Shape the commercial terms of each partnership

    • Turn signed partnerships into qualified bank opportunities for our sales team

Success in the first 3 to 12 months

    • 3 months. You're up to speed on Lorum, building strong relationships across the core banking ecosystem, with early partnerships starting to take shape

    • 6 months. Your first partnerships are live and starting to create opportunities for our sales team

    • 12 months. Partnerships are an established revenue line for Lorum, with bank clients coming through the channel you've built

    Ideal Candidate

    Must Haves

    • You've worked at, partnered with, or sold through core banking providers, and you know how their commercials and partner ecosystems work

    • You bring a network across core banking and banking technology that you can use from day one

    • You can own partnerships end to end across multiple markets, from finding the right partner through to bank opportunities and revenue, without a playbook

    • You don't need a degree, correspondent banking or payments experience

    Nice to haves

    • You've built a partnerships team or function from scratch before

    Comp & Benefits

    • Employee stock ownership (ESOP)

    • Flexible vacation policy

    • Private Healthcare

    • Flexible working and autonomy

    • Pay it forward days - we offer 2 annual pay it forward days where you can take time to volunteer for a charitable cause that is important to you.

    • Wellness days - we believe you can only work your best when you feel your best, and we know working at Lorum is intense, so we offer 3 wellness days every quarter where you can take time to re-energize
