Supervise, protect, instruct, train, counsel and evaluate employees.
Responsible for the care, custody and adherence to the rules and regulations of non-citizens assigned to specific housing and working areas.
Supervise and direct searches for contraband and provide security.
Observation of non-citizens during activities and assigned to work duty.
Read, review and properly add information found in non-citizen records which is related to the non-citizens health and safety and to the security of the facility. Provide appropriate information to other personnel.
Supervise the preparation and maintenance of records, forms and reports.
Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. Provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills, procedures and intervention techniques.
Maintain accountability of staff, non-citizens and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the Sergeant shall also perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by the Warden.

Occasionally responding to altercations and occasional restraining and securing assaultive non-citizens.
Ability to respond rapidly to potential security and/or medical codes/issues.
Frequent transferring and transporting non-citizens by walking or riding in various vehicles such as vans, buses, and other forms of transportation.
Continuous periods of operating/driving company vehicles to pick up and transport offenders per shift.
Remaining awake and alert while on duty per shift.
Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50-100 lbs.
Ability to occasionally withstand direct or indirect exposure to OC spray.
Exposure per shift of outdoor elements and temperatures with scheduled breaks.
Pay: $31.00 per hour
