Through innovation and transformation, we are redefining the boundaries of possibility, continuously setting new standards for efficiency, sustainability, and excellence. With a presence in more than 130 countries and a workforce of over 100,000 employees, we are committed to connecting and simplifying our customers’ supply chains.

    About the Role

We are Maersk, and we are looking for an Operational Excellence Lead to join our Operational Excellence team in Canada. This role plays a critical part in driving the adoption and maturity of The Maersk Way (TMW) while leading complex business optimization, process improvement, and transformation initiatives across the Area.

As a senior Operational Excellence practitioner, you will partner closely with business leaders across Operations, Product, Customer Experience, and Sales to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and implement sustainable improvements that drive measurable results. You will serve as a coach, facilitator, and trusted advisor—helping teams embed structured problem-solving methodologies, strengthen performance management practices, and accelerate continuous improvement across the organization.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys influencing without direct authority, navigating complex stakeholder environments, and driving change through data, operational expertise, and strong leadership presence.

    What We Offer

    • Exposure to senior leaders and strategic business priorities across Canada and North America
    • A collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead complex Operational Excellence and business transformation initiatives aligned to Area priorities
    • Drive adoption and maturity of The Maersk Way (TMW), embedding structured problem-solving and continuous improvement practices across the business
    • Facilitate workshops, diagnostics, value stream mapping sessions, and root-cause analysis efforts to solve complex operational challenges
    • Coach leaders and teams on Lean methodologies, performance management, problem-solving frameworks, and change leadership
    • Support implementation of process improvements that improve efficiency, quality, scalability, and customer outcomes
    • Partner with business stakeholders to translate data and operational insights into practical improvement actions
    • Drive cross-functional stakeholder alignment and support sustainable implementation of transformation initiatives
    • Identify opportunities for automation, digitalization, analytics, and process optimization in partnership with technology and data teams
    • Develop Operational Excellence capability across the organization through coaching, mentoring, and train-the-trainer activities

    Who We Are Looking For

    • We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about continuous improvement, operational excellence, and organizational transformation
    • Significant experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, Business Transformation, or related disciplines
    • Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies, DMAIC, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and structured problem-solving techniques
    • Experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives and driving measurable business results
    • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change without direct authority
    • Proven ability to coach leaders and teams through change and performance improvement initiatives
    • Experience working with KPIs, performance management systems, operational metrics, and business analytics
    • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to connect operational improvements to broader business outcomes
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and executive-facing skills
    • Lean or Six Sigma certifications are beneficial but not required
    • Experience within logistics, transportation, supply chain, or operational environments is highly desirable
