    Responsibilities

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy industrial equipment to ensure maximum equipment uptime and process reliability. This position supports a nonwoven manufacturing environment and requires hands-on mechanical expertise in conveyors, bearings, chains, lubrication systems, and industrial alignment techniques. The mechanic must be comfortable operating within a CMMS platform, executing PMs, logging work, and ensuring timely communication of equipment conditions and work completion. Perform all tasks in a safe manner while promoting a strong “safety-first” culture.

    · Shift is fixed at night and follows a 2-2-3 schedule (12-hour shifts).

    Primary Responsibilities

    · Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and drive systems.

    · Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in a timely and safe manner to minimize downtime.

    · Track conveyor belts, align rollers, and replace worn components as necessary.

    · Perform precision shaft and pulley alignments once trained (laser and dial indicators).

    · Lubricate bearings, chains, and other mechanical components using correct methods and schedules.

    · Interpret mechanical blueprints, equipment schematics, and work orders with guidance.

    · Use CMMS software for work order tracking, time entry, and PM execution.

    · Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform root cause failure analysis as needed.

    · Safely operate lifts, cranes, and hoists; follow LOTO procedures and plant safety rules.

    · Collaborate with other maintenance and operations personnel to ensure production needs are met.

    · Participate in continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

    · Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    · High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training is a plus.

    · 5+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    · Experience in nonwoven or other heavy industrial environments strongly preferred.

    · Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including gears, chains, bearings, and drive systems.

    · Familiarity with lubrication techniques and best practices.

    · Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and alignment instruments.

    · Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.

    · Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.

    · Ability to work independently on night shift with minimal supervision.

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment

    · Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 75 pounds regularly.

    · Ability to work in elevated areas and confined spaces.

    · Exposure to industrial noise, heat, cold, and humidity.

    · Shift is fixed at night and follows a 2-2-3 schedule (12-hour shifts).

    · Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if needed.
