    Job description

Certified Peer Health Navigator – Weekend Day Shift

    Saturday & Sunday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 16 Hours/Week
Washington State Peer Certification Required – CPC or CPSS

Bring Your Lived Experience. Help Others Move Forward.

Telecare is seeking an experienced Certified Peer Health Navigator who understands that recovery is personal—and that sometimes the most meaningful support comes from someone who has walked their own recovery journey.

This role is designed for a strong, recovery-focused Certified Peer who can build authentic relationships with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges while helping them navigate behavioral health, physical health, and community resources.

As a Peer Health Navigator, you will use your lived experience, professional peer training, and knowledge of recovery to help members build confidence, advocate for themselves, overcome barriers, and take greater ownership of their health and recovery.

This is a fully in-person position in Northern Washington and is ideal for an experienced Certified Peer looking for a consistent weekend schedule.

    Schedule

    16 Hours Per Week | Saturday & Sunday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

    Compensation

    Expected Starting Wage: $21.05 – $25.38/hour
Full Wage Range: Up to $29.70/hour

Starting pay is based on relevant experience above the minimum qualifications and applicable geographic differentials.

Weekend AM shifts also receive a 5% shift differential.

    Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings credibility, compassion, resilience, and strong peer engagement skills.

    Required qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED

    • Current Washington State Peer Certification – CPC or CPSS required upon hire

    • At least two (2) years of experience as a Certified Peer or working in behavioral health

    • Personal lived experience as a beneficiary of the public behavioral health system of care

    • Experience helping individuals navigate physical healthcare services and barriers

    • Must be at least 18 years of age

This position requires Washington State Peer Certification. Candidates who do not currently hold the required CPC or CPSS credential will not meet the minimum qualifications for this opening.

    What You'll Do

As a Peer Health Navigator, you will:

    • Use your own recovery experience appropriately to build trust, connection, hope, and engagement

    • Help members identify their strengths, interests, recovery goals, and personal preferences

    • Support members in navigating mental health, primary care, substance use, specialty healthcare, and community resources

    • Coach members on advocating for themselves and communicating effectively with healthcare providers

    • Help individuals overcome barriers to accessing care and strengthen their ability to manage their own health and recovery

    • Connect members with community resources and natural supports

    • Support members in reducing self-stigma and building resilience

    • Engage individuals who may have struggled to connect with traditional behavioral health services

    • Assist members with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed

    • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team

    • Use verbal de-escalation and crisis prevention skills to help maintain a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment

    • Participate in required crisis prevention and safety training

At Telecare, Peer Health Navigators don't simply connect people to services. They help members develop the confidence and skills to increasingly navigate their own healthcare, advocate for their needs, and direct their recovery.

    What Will Help You Succeed

    Strong candidates will bring:

    • A recovery-focused, strengths-based approach

    • The ability to use lived experience professionally and with appropriate boundaries

    • Confidence working with individuals who may be difficult to engage

    • Knowledge of community behavioral health, healthcare, and social service resources

    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

    • Comfort working collaboratively with members, families, clinical staff, and community partners
