At Making Waves Swim School, our Head Coaches are the leaders on deck. They keep lessons running smoothly, support coaches in the moment, connect with families, and help create a safe, fun, and high-quality swim experience.
This role is perfect for someone who loves teaching, enjoys helping others grow, and can bring calm, confident energy to a busy pool deck.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the pool deck and helping each shift run smoothly
- Supporting coaches with lesson quality, swimmer progress, and class flow
- Teaching swimmers using our proven Small Steps approach
- Ensuring Making Waves lesson plans and teaching standards are followed
- Providing encouragement, guidance, and feedback to coaches
- Engaging with swimmers and celebrating their progress
- Communicating with families professionally and warmly
- Supporting Day 1, Feedback Day, and Evaluation Day conversations
- Monitoring deck safety, class needs, and swimmer experience
- Helping organize master sheets, skill tracking, notes, and level updates
- Communicating staff, swimmer, or family concerns to the Supervisor or Facility Manager
- Supporting emergency procedures and keeping the pool deck safe, tidy, and ready for lessons

Qualifications
- Standard(Intermediate) First Aid & CPR-C
- National Lifeguard
- Lifesaving Instructor certification
- Making Waves Coach Course (we train you) - preferred
- Making Waves Parent & Tot Training - preferred
- Customer Service Representative experience is an asset
Schedule
- Daytime, evening, and weekend shifts available
- Minimum availability of 2 days per week required
