Tūturu Lead (Rotorua)

Kō wai koe / About you:
This role supports secondary schools to strengthen student wellbeing and reduce alcohol and other drug harm. You will build strong relationships with schools and youth health services, deliver professional learning, and help schools create effective systems for early identification and support. The position focuses on practical, collaborative work that improves outcomes for rangatahi.
You will:
- Lead implementation of the Tūturu programme in partner schools.
- Build relationships with school leaders, staff, and youth health/social services.
- Deliver professional development using Tūturu resources.
- Support collaboration between schools and health services to strengthen AoD response plans.
- Support whānau engagement initiatives suited to each school’s context.
- Record engagement and progress accurately in the Tūturu Dashboard.
- Build networks with youth health, mental health, and addiction services.
- Provide resources and support that strengthen equitable outcomes for Māori and Pacific students.
Ngā pūkenga ka whai koe/ Skills you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in health, education, or social sciences.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, systems change, or related work in health, youth development, community development, or education.
- Familiarity with youth health, mental health, and addiction services.
- Full New Zealand driver license and ability to travel regularly regionally with occasional national travel.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and data management tools.
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively.
- Ability to maintain health and safety requirements under organizational policies.
Preferred criteria (useful but not essential)
- Existing relationships with schools in the region.
- Experience working with Māori and Pacific providers or communities.
- Experience supporting systems change across education or health settings.
- Confidence facilitating groups and delivering training.
