Position Summary
The Chef de Rang is responsible for managing a designated section of the restaurant, ensuring a smooth, attentive, and personalized service. This role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional guest experience by maintaining the highest standards of service and coordination with the kitchen and bar teams.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Welcome guests in a warm, professional, and courteous manner
- Present menus, provide detailed explanations, and make recommendations
- Take and process orders accurately
- Deliver a refined and attentive table service
- Anticipate guest needs and handle special requests
- Address guest feedback or concerns with professionalism and care
Operations
- Manage and organize a specific section independently
- Ensure seamless communication with the kitchen and bar
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and service standards at all times
- Handle mise en place, service flow, and table resetting
Teamwork
- Supervise and support Commis de Rang
- Assist in training and onboarding new team members
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and other departments
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in luxury hospitality
- Excellent grooming and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluency in Arabic (Darija), French and English (additional languages are a plus)
- Ability to perform well under pressure
