    About the Job:

    As Pastry commis at Mandarin Oriental Paris, you will carry out all required operational tasks and duties in the pastry under the guidance of the respective Senior Chefs, with the overall objective to prepare high quality pastry items in a timely manner as per quality and food safety standard

    As Pastry commis you will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Prepare ingredients and assist in the production of pastry items, following recipes and pastry standards.
    • Support the pastry team during service, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in your designated pastry section, in line with hygiene standards.
    • Assist with stock control and ensure proper storage of pastry ingredients and products.
    • Learn and develop your pastry skills under the guidance of the Head Pastry Chef and Sous Chefs.
    • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
    • Collaborate with the pastry team to ensure the highest quality of desserts and baked goods.
    • Participate in training sessions to enhance your pastry knowledge and technique

    As Pastry commis, We Expect from You:

    • A passion for pastry and a strong desire to develop your career in a luxury hotel environment.
    • Previous experience in a similar role within a pastry kitchen, fine dining restaurant, or hotel is preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to follow instructions and quickly learn from experienced pastry chefs.
    • A team player with excellent communication skills.
    • Fluent in French (written and spoken).
    • Knowledge of pastry hygiene standards and food safety practices.
    • Positive attitude and a proactive approach to daily tasks.
    • Diploma in pastry or culinary arts.
    • Rigorous, organized, and detail oriented.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of enthusiasm.
