System Engineer

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanics, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar
  
• 5+ years of experience in system engineering, ideally in automotive or complex product environments
  
• Strong expertise in:
  System architecture & multi-domain integration (HW/SW/Mechanical)
  Requirements engineering & system validation
  Development processes (V-model, APQP)
  Functional Safety (ISO 26262) is a plus
  
• Good understanding of mechanical interfaces, embedded software, and hardware design
  
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage complexity
• Experience working in cross-functional and international teams
  
• Fluent in English (German is a plus)
  

Responsibilities

• Define and drive system architecture for complex mechatronic products, ensuring robust integration of hardware, software, and mechanical elements
• Translate customer and stakeholder requirements into clear system specifications, concepts, and technical solutions
• Ensure end-to-end system responsibility across the full product lifecycle — from concept and development to industrialization and series support
• Lead system decomposition and ensure alignment between HW, SW, and Mechanical domains
• Maintain requirements traceability and system consistency, including impact analysis for changes and product updates
• Perform system-level risk analysis (FMEA, technical risk assessments) and ensure compliance with standards
• Act as the technical interface towards customers, including participation in design reviews and issue resolution
• Manage and coordinate engineering changes (PCN), variant updates, and continuous product improvements (VAVE)
• Support customer claims and field issues with structured root cause analysis and corrective actions at system level
• Capture and reuse lessons learned to improve product quality and development efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HW, SW, Mechanical, Quality, Industrial Engineering) to ensure successful industrialization and stable production performance
• Contribute to innovation and advanced engineering activities
