Construction Laborer

SAM Construction Group is the construction division for our vertically-integrated developer, SAM Development Group.  We specialize in new mid-rise multifamily and luxury home construction.  Our structures are concrete and steel, with in-house divisions self-performing a variety of trade craft scopes including grading/excavation, underground wet/dry utilities, concrete/rebar, framing/drywall, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, roofing, landscaping, as well as other scopes.

Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting skilled tradespeople and construction crews with general labor tasks on residential construction sites. Performs material handling, site cleanup, basic equipment operation, and other duties to support safe and efficient construction operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials and equipment.
• Assist bricklayers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, concrete workers, and other skilled trades.
• Prepare and clean construction sites before, during, and after work.
• Dig trenches, mix and pour materials, and perform basic demolition as directed.
• Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely.
• Set up and remove ladders, scaffolding, barriers, and temporary structures as required.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and crew leaders.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Perform other general construction duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous construction or general labor experience preferred but not always required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working outdoors.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices is a plus.
