The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio, video, and lighting equipment for meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events at the Provo Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. This role ensures the highest quality of customer service while supporting event execution, collaborating with internal teams, and delivering a seamless AV experience for hotel guests and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

· Set up, test, and operate AV equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, video monitors, sound systems, lighting, and video conferencing tools.

· Assist meeting planners and clients with AV needs before and during events.

· Provide technical support and troubleshooting during live events.

· Work closely with Sales, Banquets, and Conference Services teams to ensure AV requirements are understood and met.

· Maintain inventory and cleanliness of AV storage areas and meeting spaces.

· Perform preventive maintenance on AV equipment and report any issues needing repair or replacement.

· Stay updated on latest AV technology and suggest upgrades or improvements.

· Ensure all equipment is safely operated and complies with Marriott brand standards.

· Provide exceptional guest service with a professional and courteous attitude at all times.

Qualifications:

· High School diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training in AV or related field preferred.

· Minimum 1–2 years of experience in AV setup and support, preferably in a hospitality or conference center setting.

· Familiarity with AV systems including Crestron, Shure, JBL, Panasonic, etc.

· Basic knowledge of IT, network connectivity, and video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx).

· Strong customer service and communication skills.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

· Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require.
