SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Talent Development Manager, this position provides administrative support in public relations, safety, and human resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Check-in visitors and notify appropriate parties of visitors
- Maintain accurate training records
- Distribute mail
- Restock refrigerators around the office
- Maintain office equipment
- Purchase office supplies
- Maintain up-to-date filing system
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
- Contact person for vending machines
- Safety data entry into the Convergence system
- Enters/maintain employee task training records
- Manages administrative safety observation/suggestions program
- Enter employee safety points in the company reward system
- Schedule various meetings and company events and make necessary accommodation arrangements
- Generate and maintain annual production schedule, vacations schedules, and calendar of events
- Assist in planning company events and plant tours
- Maintain employee uniform and safety shoe program
- Management support
- Assist with various special projects as requested
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of general office manager or administrative experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- Ability to work with a variety of people and personalities
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and familiarity with Access or other database applications
- Excellent communication skills on the phone and in person
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Project a positive attitude and professional appearance
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to properly handle confidential information
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy office environment (may include distractions, interruptions, and noise
- Must have excellent work and safety record
- Pass required physical examination and drug screen
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds of weight
- Physical requirements also include visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, climbing on equipment, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, and squatting to perform the essential functions
- Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, and rain). Must be able to work in a noisy environment with noise levels up to 120 dba. Must be able to work in environments including vibration and mechanical and electrical hazards. Must be able to work any assigned shift. . May have exposure to dust, cement, clay, gypsum, sand, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc. (See MSDS’s)
