Job Description: Digital Transformation Manager-Maruti Suzuki

Position Title / Role: Project Lead

Role Objective

The Project Lead will support the Automation Centre of Excellence (COE) by designing and delivering intelligent automation solutions aligned with Maruti Suzuki’s business and digital transformation objectives.

This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, vendor partners, and internal IT teams to translate business requirements into scalable digital solutions. The Project Lead is expected to possess a strong understanding of modern technology enablers to guide solution discussions, validate vendor deliverables, and ensure adherence to COE standards.

The role operates in an Agile environment using tools such as JIRA and requires hands-on expertise across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Role Detailing (Work Areas & Responsibilities)

1. Requirement Management & Analysis

·      Identify opportunities to implement and scale intelligent automation solutions across plant and manufacturing operations.

·      Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate detailed requirements prior to vendor engagement.

·      Review and validate functional specifications, user stories, and technical documentation prepared by vendor partners.

·      Conduct technical feasibility assessments, gap analysis, and provide solution recommendations.

·      Maintain a structured, prioritized intake and requirement pipeline using JIRA.

Team Management , Vendor Onboarding & Management

·      Collaborate with internal COEs and external partners and close the tasks as per the timeline.

·      Manage vendor relationships, ensure adherence to documentation standards, and track delivery quality.

·      Support budget tracking and vendor payments.

Technical & Agile Project Support & Documentation

·      Oversee documentation quality such as business cases, process flows, BRDs/SDDs provided by vendors.

·      Architect the solutions in collaboration with partners and internal COE’s. Documentation of technical

·      Collaborate with external project managers to ensure timely delivery of features.

·      Ensure requirement changes are communicated accurately to all teams.

Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration

·      Act as a liaison between business units, vendors, IT.

·      Support requirement clarification sessions and ensure alignment across all parties.

·      Ensure deliverables meet business and technical expectations.

Cost & Process Optimization

·      Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual interventions.

·      Suggest automation opportunities and coordinate with vendors for assessment.

·      Optimize the cost incurred for existing solutions (Cloud + On Prem)

Reporting & Insights

·      Generate regular reports on project progress, risks, and performance metrics.

·      Maintain dashboards for pipeline, delivery timelines, and COE KPIs.

·      Provide insights to support strategic decision‑making.

Technical Competencies

·      Experience on implementing new age technologies of Intelligent Automation with core technologies as below

·      Core Technologies:

Backend Development: Java, .Net, Node JS

Microservices Architecture with REST API communications.

Frontend: Angular, React

Databases: RDBMS – MS SQL, Postgres. NO SQL – Mongo DB

Cloud – AWS, Azure. Hands on experience in utilizing the computing, storage services.

·      AI Driven Automation:

Usage of Azure AI services such as Document Intelligence , AI search , embedding models, LLMs and AWS Bedrock services such as Llama, Claude and implementation of RAG.

·      API Based Integrations:

Design – REST APIs

Security – OAuth 2.0, JWT / SAML based secured integrations

Integration Scenarios – RPA + Core Systems, On Prem to Cloud based integrations

·      Development Operations:

Hands on experience on CI-CD tooling – Version controlling primarily through GIT. Deployment through Jenkins pipeline.

Awareness on Security enabled Dev Ops – Dynamic and Static Testing, Secret management through Azure Key Vaults especially in cloud.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering & related field.

Experience

· 5+ years of experience in Digital Transformation, Automation Projects.

· Proven experience working in Agile environments using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
