WIRING HARNESS

Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of power & ground distribution, communication architecture, system circuits.
2. Conceptualization of overall vehicle wiring harness layout pattern.
3. 3D Layout of wiring harness and related components in Unigraphics
4. Wiring harness related molding & sheet metal parts design & development
5. Preparation of 2D harness and related component drawing.
6. Testing/Evaluation of wiring harness based on various MSIL standards.
7. Collaborate as part of CFTs for seamless integration of electrical systems.
8. Root cause analysis & countermeasure study of various assembly & aftermarket issues.
9. Creating engineering BOMs and managing changes regularization through change notice.
10. Benchmarking and following global trends to identify & implement potential kaizens

Technical/ Functional:

1. Knowledge of different types of automotive electrical/electronic devices.
2. Able to understand device I/O information & ensure integration of components with electrical systems considering reliability and cost.
3. Hand-on experience of packaging electrical components (wiring harness knowhow desirable) in a constrained environment without impacting performance.
4. Knowledge about the Product design lifecycle and its alignment with vehicle trials.
5. Knowledge of standards (JIS/JASO/ISO) for automotive electric parts (preferably wiring harness)
6. Knowledge of ISO 9000/ TS 16949/ ISO 14001

Desirable for functional area:

1. Min. 2-yrs’ experience of directly working in design of vehicle wiring harness.
2. Knowledge of harness child components like connectors, terminals, wires, protection, fuse etc. and their selection criterion.
3. Preferable to have work experience in an OEMs
4. Hands on experience of layout wiring harness and preparing system schematics from device I/O details. Tools: Unigraphics (3D), Zuken CR5000 (2D)
