Project Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

SUMMARY: The candidate will be responsible for working on a wide range of projects around the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Promote safe work practices by following company safety policies.
2. Maintain a clean work area and promote company 5S policies.
3. Perform electrical and mechanical repairs as well as PM’s on equipment and facilities
4. Identify root causes of maintenance downtime and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime.
5. Order repair parts for maintenance repairs to equipment and facilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent AND completion of a two-year vocational maintenance training program OR apprenticeship program emphasizing industrial maintenance is required.  The ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas;

1. 10+ years’ experience in an industrial environment working with 3 phase high voltage systems.

2. Strong knowledge of electrical circuits including properly sizing conduit & wire, conduit bending & installation.

3. Ability to read & interpret CAD prints, related to fabrication & electrical circuits.

4. Must have a working knowledge of National Electric Code.

5. Knowledgeable in basic metal fabrication.

6. Experience in operating forklifts and man lifts (i.e. scissor lifts, articulating booms, etc.)

7. Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, electronic, etc…

8. Must be self-motivated and proven strong leadership skills.

9. Must have excellent decision-making and team motivational skills.

10. Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, adversity, and changes.

11. Must be willing to have a flexible work schedule that supports production and process improvements

1. Ability to meet attendance standards.  All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hour week.  Sometimes, it may be necessary to work additional hours to accomplish the required tasks and meet deadlines.

4. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and effectively communicate with management and direct reports. Should have the ability to recognize communication gaps and appropriately address them.

7. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with a large variety of individuals, including production personnel, maintenance personnel, manufacturing engineers, management, and outside contractors.

An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

The position is subject to extended periods of sitting depending on the nature of the issues at hand. Along with this is the occasional lifting of boxes and bending or crouching.
