MATRIX is seeking an experienced Project Manager in New Florence, Missouri. This is an on-site assignment expected to last approximately one to two years.
The Project Manager will manage the clients crane and rigging scope from planning through completion, coordinating closely with mechanical and electrical contractors, customers, field crews, and internal operations. The successful candidate will be a field-oriented project leader capable of coordinating lift planning, equipment and workforce logistics, schedule execution, cost tracking, project documentation, billing support, and overall project profitability.

LOCATION: New Florence, Missouri
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Manage project from initial planning through completion.
- Coordinate project requirements and schedules directly with mechanical and electrical contractors.
- Manage crane lift planning, including site logistics, crane setup, access, equipment positioning, and lift requirements.
- Coordinate crane operators, rigging crews, field supervision, and other assigned personnel.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, mobilization, demobilization, materials, and site logistics.
- Review jobsite conditions and coordinate the safe and efficient execution of work.
- Monitor project schedules and communicate changes, constraints, or execution issues to customers and internal operations.
- Track crew hours, equipment hours, project costs, productivity, and forecasted performance.
- Maintain communication with customers, field crews, contractors, and management.
- Identify scope changes and additional work opportunities while helping maintain project profitability.
- Complete project documentation, progress reporting, billing support, change records, and post-job reviews.
- Support project closeout, final commercial reconciliation, and lessons learned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five or more years of project management or construction management experience in data centers, industrial construction, power generation, manufacturing, infrastructure, or another complex construction environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing field execution, subcontractors, schedules, costs, and project documentation.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and contractor coordination.
- Experience tracking project performance and identifying schedule, cost, safety, and execution risks.
- Working knowledge of change management, including identifying out-of-scope work and supporting change-order development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead meetings, resolve conflicts, and coordinate across multiple organizations and disciplines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common project-management and scheduling tools.
- Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced field environment.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site and adjust hours based on project requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience supporting data center construction.
- Experience with crane operations, heavy lifting, rigging, equipment installation, or specialized transportation.
- Experience working for a major subcontractor on a large general-contractor-led project.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar construction-management platforms.
- Experience with cost forecasting, productivity measurement, earned-value concepts, or project-controls reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related discipline.
- PMP, CCM, OSHA 30, or other relevant professional certification
Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $86 – $100 per hour.
