The Director of Clinical Support Services is a senior leader in Supply Chain Management Operations who leads and advances supply chain operational systems and processes in support of Mayo’s clinical practice and initiatives. This role exists at each regional destination medical site to support and align supply chain strategy with surgical and procedural teams, ensuring seamless, high-quality support for patient care delivery while optimizing supply chain performance against key performance indicators (KPIs). The position serves as the site-based Supply Chain Leader and a strategic partner to clinical and administrative leaders, fostering strong relationships through superb stakeholder engagement across perioperative and procedural environments to drive efficiency, innovation, reliable product availability, and workflow optimization. This includes developing and executing short-term tactics and long-range plans that result in the optimal use of supplies and services while reducing the cost of delivering them. This leader will drive regional transformation, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and promote integrated, data-driven decision-making while serving as the regional supply chain executive leader for the practice. The Director will assess internal customer satisfaction across these practice areas through surveys and develop measures to improve satisfaction based on the findings.

    Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, process engineering from an accredited college or university and ten years of management experience, including five years of experience in progressively responsible management positions in Healthcare Supply Chain. Must have supply chain management experience, and experience in clinical areas with clinical process standardization, business process engineering and performance improvement strategies. Advanced certification in healthcare is desirable. Work experience in a hospital, a multi-hospital complex system or other healthcare-related setting is required.  Experience in an academic health system would be a plus. Experience leading major organizational changes and transformation is required, including large-scale supply chain redesign and other operational efficiency initiatives. Knowledge of demand replenishment, inventory management, logistics, critical supply chain KPIs and related supply chain systems and technologies is also desirable. Experience in other industries, especially those recognized for world-class supply chain practices with a record of innovation, is considered an asset. Experience with cost management related to non-clinical operational improvements, care process or procedural standardization, and initiatives that enhance patient outcomes are also desirable. This role requires high degree of personal integrity and ethics.
