The Manager of Lifelong Learning leads the organization’s learning and development (L&D) strategy, programs, and operations to build the capabilities employees need throughout their careers. This role is responsible for developing and managing learning solutions for skilled roles, new-hire onboarding, service and technical training, professional development, leadership development, and ongoing employee growth.
The Manager of Lifelong Learning provides strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for the Lifelong Learning team. Working in partnership with operational leaders, subject-matter experts, Human Resources, and other stakeholders, this leader ensures learning programs are relevant, accessible, measurable, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Job Duties:

Lead the overall Lifelong Learning and L&D strategy, ensuring programs support organizational goals, workforce development needs, and employee career growth.

Direct, coach, and develop the Lifelong Learning team
•
Establish team priorities, clarify roles and accountabilities, manage workloads and resources, and foster a collaborative, service-oriented learning culture.

Oversee the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of learning programs for skilled and technical roles
•
Lead the development and evolution of the organization’s new-hire onboarding and initial training experience to support employee readiness, engagement, and retention.
•
Guide professional-development programs that build employees’ business, interpersonal, technical, and career-development skills.
•
Develop and manage leadership-development programs for current and emerging leaders, including foundational leadership training, manager development, and succession-support initiatives.

Partner with business and operational leaders to identify skills gaps, performance needs, training priorities, and future workforce capability requirements.

Collaborate with subject-matter experts to create, maintain, and deliver accurate, practical, and effective learning content.
•
Ensure learning pathways, curricula, and training materials are organized by role, career stage, capability, and business need.
•
Oversee administration and optimization of the learning management system (LMS), including learner records, course assignments, completion reporting, user access, content management, and system enhancements.

Establish processes and standards for training documentation, learning records, course evaluations, and compliance-related learning requirements.
•
Monitor participation, completion, learner feedback, knowledge retention, and business outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.

Use learning data and stakeholder feedback to recommend enhancements to programs, delivery methods, tools, and learning experiences.
•
Manage the L&D budget, vendor relationships, external training resources, and learning technology investments as applicable.

Promote a culture of continuous learning by increasing awareness of development opportunities and encouraging employees and leaders to take ownership of growth.

Ensure learning programs are inclusive, accessible, consistent, and aligned with organizational policies and values.

Stay informed about effective learning practices, adult-learning principles, leadership development approaches, and relevant training technologies to continuously strengthen the organization’s L&D offerings.

Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline is preferred. In the absence of a degree, directly related education, training, certifications, and professional experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position may be considered, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement.
